2150 – which was originally launched by the real estate investor NREP and Christian Hernandez, Jacob Bro and Christian Jølck (now part of Urban Partners) – invests in more sustainable development of cities through new technologies that can promote green urban development
and reduce CO2 emissions. The ambition is to create companies that can become "gigacorns", i.e. economically sustainable companies with the potential to deliver a reduction of CO2 emissions from cities of at least one gigaton per year. The fund's investments include, for example, companies with solutions that can reduce CO2 emissions in the production of concrete and cement, enhance biodiversity and spread solar energy.
