Stiesdal expands ownership circle with Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker - an investment in green Danish jobs

The Danish climate technology company Stiesdal expands its ownership circle with Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, a foundation-owned investment company with a focus on ownership of Danish companies.

Stiesdal has in recent years made its mark within climate technology with the launch of three independent technologies:

  • Electrolysis plant: Stiesdal's first three 3 MW electrolysis plants are in operation and were delivered to Danish customers in 2023 and 2024. The company's electrolysis technology is targeted at the production of green hydrogen and is designed to create competitive Power-to-X (PtX) solutions.
  • SkyClean pyrolysis: Combines capture of CO2 from the atmosphere using biochar with production of green energy. The first full-scale 20 MW SkyClean plant has been erected and is in the final commissioning phase.
  • Foundations for floating offshore wind turbines: The company's Tetra technology is a technology for mass production of floating foundations for offshore wind turbines. Floating offshore wind enables a global expansion of offshore wind energy. The company's floating wind turbine TetraSpar Demonstrator has been in full operation at 200 meters water depth off Norway for two and a half years.

We believe that Stiesdal, with their groundbreaking concepts within green transition, can create knowledge, growth and jobs that not only benefit Denmark, but the world. It is a company that has both great commercial scaling potential and at the same time potential to deliver a significant contribution to the global green transition. We look forward to, in collaboration with competent, ambitious and dedicated forces at Stiesdal, being able to lift this promising Danish company further on its green growth journey.
Claus Gregersen, CEO, Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker

Stiesdal's climate technologies are designed with a view to global scaling based on Danish production. The company has now reached a point where the three technologies are ready for the market, and with the addition of Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker to the ownership circle, Stiesdal's opportunities for exploiting the scaling potential in the company's products are strengthened.

We are delighted to have Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker as a new co-owner. With their commitment and resources, we will accelerate the development of the company. We are facing a scaling of Stiesdal's hydrogen business and an expansion of our SkyClean pyrolysis technology, and here Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker's investment contributes to us being able to realize the full potential of our technologies both at home and abroad.
Jacob Nørgaard Andersen, CEO, Stiesdal

For Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, the partnership with Stiesdal represents an investment strategy with a long-term focus on growth in Danish business and jobs.

New scale investment

With the investment, Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker adds another new ownership to its scale investments, where a total of 2 billion DKK has been allocated to support promising Danish growth companies with global potential.

In three years, Stiesdal has developed an innovative electrolysis plant that is especially suited for operation with renewable energy sources and thus production of green hydrogen. It is a venture that meets the global demand for green hydrogen and sustainable solutions for heavy industry through PtX.

Stiesdal's pyrolysis-based SkyClean technology constitutes a significant contribution to reducing the agricultural sector's CO2 emissions. Both in the domestic market and abroad, the company experiences an increasing focus on the technology, which represents one of the most cost-effective methods for capture and storage of CO2.

We are very pleased to welcome Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker to the circle of owners," says Stiesdal's chairman Kim Bøttkjær. "Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker is an investor that we share visions and values with, and their presence strengthens our position considerably. A robust and solid ownership is crucial for a company like ours, which has committed to developing and delivering key technologies for the international green transition
Kim Bøttkjær, Chairman, Stiesdal
