Social improvements and financial returns

Den Sociale Kapitalfond has raised DKK 670 million for its new fund, Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest II. This is a record amount for the relatively new impact capital fund, which was the first of its kind in Denmark. Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker was also a co-investor on this occasion.

Den Sociale Kapitalfond Invest II, like its predecessor Invest I, aims to achieve both a positive financial return and a measurable, positive social or environmental impact. Unlike traditional capital funds, Den Sociale Kapitalfond exclusively invests in companies that focus on or have the potential for social responsibility, such as employing people on the fringes of the labor market or educating socially vulnerable individuals.

Since 2017, we have specifically prioritized capital for impact because we believe that it is indeed possible to invest financially soundly while also making a difference in society.
Claus Gregersen, CEO in Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker

Regarding the record amount, founder Lars Jannick Johansen stated, “There is a general trend that we are more conscious of the role companies play in society. It is incredibly gratifying to be in a situation with such strong investor support.”

Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker has invested DKK 50 million in the fund on this occasion. Claus Gregersen, CEO of Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, told Børsen that impact investments have matured in a more professional direction over the years.
