Gyldendal was founded in 1770, and for almost 250 years the publisher has enriched the lives of Danes with “mind-broadeners”, art, culture and fine reads.
In addition to Gyldendal Forlag, which is Denmark’s largest and oldest publisher, the Group includes the book clubs Gyldendals Bogklubber and the learning materials division Gyldendal Uddannelse.
Gyldendal Forlag publishes more than 400 new titles a year – in printed or electronic format – for children, young people and adults. Through its book clubs, Gyldendal provides services to about 150,000 Danes who are members of e.g. Gyldendals Bogklub or Samlerens Bogklub. The most important task of Gyldendal Uddannelse is to provide carefully prepared quality learning materials for essentially all levels in the Danish education system.
Gyldendal A/S also owns Systime, a publisher of learning materials, and Rosinante & Co, a publisher.
