With the acquisition of Louis Poulsen, Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker becomes the sole owner of one of Denmark’s most iconic design brands. The investment is in line with Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker’s strategy of holding more significant ownership stakes in solid Danish companies with international potential.

Louis Poulsen is one of the strongest names in Danish design history. Since its founding in Copenhagen more than 150 years ago, the company has helped shape the way we understand light, space and atmosphere. Through collaborations with leading designers and architects such as Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton and Vilhelm Lauritzen, Louis Poulsen has created designs that reach beyond the functional and have left a lasting mark on Danish cultural history.

Back in Danish ownership

Since 2018, Louis Poulsen has been owned by Flos B&B Italia Group, an Italian design conglomerate. With Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker’s acquisition, Louis Poulsen returns to Danish hands. At the same time, the company gains a long-term owner with experience from international design companies with Danish roots such as Fritz Hansen, where quality and brand are central elements.
